Apparel wear brand UYN launches their Marathon Range, featuring Hypermotion and Zero-Friction fabric technology designed to keep you cool, comfortable and chafe free. We should be testing out some of the range very soon so watch this space for what we think on the new kit.
As the official race shirt supplier for the Košice (Slovakia), Munich (Germany) and Venice (Italy) international marathons last year, UYN have put their technical knowledge to good use in the new range. We recently featured the brand here as they launched their masks.

Their running specific range of attire features several clever bits of fabric tech.
The shorts use their innovative Zero-Friction structure. It reduces chafing between fabric and skin, for a high degree of comfort over long distances.
Lightweight, breathable and offering freedom of movement, these are the key features behind this new range, making it perfect for all kinds of runners in the summer months.
Hypermotion
The short sleeve Marathon shirt has been designed to adapt to your bodies movement, without restriction. This allowed UYN to remove all stitching from the area around the shoulders.
The University of Verona’s CeRiSM (Sports, Mountains and Health Research Centre) conducted tests into the UYN tops, confirming that they exert less pressure than their competitors on the muscles around the shoulders, both during static and during exercise conditions. That means more freedom of movement when running,
more agility and a greater feeling of comfort.

The Marathon top’s other defining feature is body temperature regulation, again made possible by exclusive UYN technologies. The Coolvent system on the chest and back act to absorb excess sweat and create a flow of air across the skin. In the underarm areas, Drylight brings the shirt and its wearer maximum breathability.
Ultralight shorts using Zero-Friction
Studying the dynamics involved in running has allowed UYN to design a new structure for their shorts in which there are no seams in the leg area. A single central seam connects the two halves of the shorts. The Zero-Friction system reduces the number of points at which the fabric can rub and cause chafing.

Their softness and high elasticity are made possible by the 3D structure of the fabric which, combined with the elasticated ergonomic waistband, helps create that superior comfort.
Their minimalist form – with all non-functional elements removed – has allowed UYN to create an extra-light pair of shorts, weighing less than 70 grams. That’s an advantage for athletes that increases in correlation with the distance run.
