First Look: Saucony Ride 14

The evolution of the Saucony Ride continues with the 14. The new shoe combines the comfort and cushioning from the FormFit and PWRRUN features.

We featured the Ride 13 here last year and Jo Pavey offered some great training advice here. The Ride 14 comes in slightly toned down colours when compared to its predecessor and a few design tweaks.

Saucony Ride Overview

Saucony say: PWRRUN cushioning continues to provide just the right amount of softness, yet responsive enough to tackle as many miles as you wish.

Inspired by wear testing and consumer feedback, the updated shape and handcrafted feel deliver a sleek, secure profile that’s faster and more dynamic than before

The clean look of FORMFIT combines a new and improved engineered mesh to optimize breathability with a lighter, thinner internal construction for a comfortable and custom fit

Key features:

  • Category: Neutral Running Shoes
  • Weight: Men 9.4oz (266g)
  • Price: £125

RUN247 say: The term evolution is very apt and why change things up if they’re not broke. The Ride 14 offers plenty of cushioning from the padded tongue and the heel tab. Under the insole lies a padded bed to absorb shocks and jarring.

The model we tried came in a very attractive Future Blue upper with a contrasting green detail in a pleasing suede-like material. Nice touches are the stitched Saucony logo on the heel and the tab on the tongue.

The Ride 14 takes on the baton from the older Ride 13.
