The New Balance 1080v10 delivers a lightweight shoe with adequate support. The mesh uppers are nicely knitted as is the current trend and offers a little extra support with additional stitching around the logo area on the instep and outside of the shoe. The toe area is reinforced to give greater durability and reduce wear from your big toe.

First steps in the shoes are very comfortable, a little different to anything I’ve tried for a while. Very comfortable and supple. The Fresh Foam midsole offers a pillow-like feel but with enough width to offer suitable lateral stability.

The heel box is a formed one piece unit which gives a striking appearance to the shoe and is perfectly comfortable without socks, cupping the heel securely. It did need a little wear to soften up a little where the heel tab touched the inside top of my heel but within no time at all I had forgotten any issues here. That was the only issue on first use and the rest of the shoe was kitten soft with no rubbing or pressure points.

An exciting looking shoe that performs equally well. The RRP of £135 points to a high end shoe and the construction and quality are evident. Deals on price are out there.

Slipping into the shoe there is plenty of give to allow swift access during transition and the mesh gripped my foot securely.

All in all the 1080v10 is a great shoe worthy of your consideration. Good practical colours in the men’s range. Same for the women’s with some interesting pastels.
