Does Your Workplace Go the Extra Mile for Run or Cycle Commuters? Red Bull Wants to Hear from You!

A few weeks ago we brought you news of the Red Bull Million Mile Commute, which is encouraging people to collectively rack up a million miles of cycle or run commuting on Strava in July. If you take part and log miles you’re eligible for various rewards and you can even get a 30 day access code to Strava premium on cans of Red Bull. Now Red Bull is launching the Extra Mile Workplace Awards, recognising the UK’s best workplaces for active transport. The Red Bull Workplace Awards, run in association with Cycling UK, will reward an overall winner, with subcategories available for “Best for Cycling”, “Best for Running”, “Best Start-Up or Micro Business”, “Best Small Business”, “Best Medium Size Business” and “Best Enterprise Business”.

Employees or employers are encouraged to submit an online entry form, based on Cycling UK’s criteria for the new Cycle Friendly Employer accreditation, a new scheme launched by the charity to recognise and support the improvement of workplace facilities.

If your employer’s secure gear storage means that you don’t have to hide a sweaty carrier bag underneath your desk or air your damp towel over your chair, Red Bull wants to hear from you!

Red Bull’s Extra Mile Workplace Awards encourages employees and employers from up and down the UK to submit why their workplace should be recognised before 27th July 2018 at midnight. As well as receiving national acknowledgement for their efforts, there’s a variety of perks and prizes up for grabs for the top workplaces.

Winners for each category will receive a fully-stocked Red Bull fridge for their office with a year’s regular supply. As well as support from Cycling UK, manufacturer of innovative products for urban cycling, beryl, will provide twenty Laserlights for the Best Start Up and Best Micro Business. Cycling security brand Hiplok will award their Hiplok ORIGINAL locks, perfect for home and offices, to winners from each category.

In addition, iconic British brand Brompton will provide £1 membership to their Brompton Bike Hire scheme to employees at the overall winner, worth £25 each, with 100 free hire days included to encourage more employees to take up cycling to work.

The awards available to enter are:
