Great Runs for 2021 – Good News!

Now more than ever we need to prioritise our mental and physical health by staying active and supporting others. Although the running calendar looks a bit different, it’s still set to be a great year of running! The Great Run team announce the following for their early events for 2021:

Great Bristol Run

The Great Bristol 10k and the Great Bristol Half Marathon are annual fixtures in the calendar, the good news is that the events are scheduled to go ahead in 2021. However, the pandemic has forced the organisers to make a change in 2021. For the first time the 10k and the Half Marathon will be combined into one event, the Great Bristol Run, scheduled for Sunday 19 September. Entries are due to open soon, but you can sign up to the Reminder Service to get the latest event news here https://www.greatrun.org/great-bristol-10k.

Great Run Solo

With the Bristol and Birmingham 10k events moved from their usual early May date to autumn, there’s a noticeable gap in the diary. However, Great Run have created a series of virtual running challenges to help you start the year strong, and build your fitness for the start line in September.

Run Away From 2020

To firmly put 2020 behind us, the January Great Run Solo Accumulator encourages you to RUN AWAY FROM 2020! The challenge is to complete 21 activities (run, jog, walk) of any distance in January – it’s a challenge for all abilities that celebrates all activity. Walk, jog, run, or do a mix of everything, it all counts.

Complete 21 activities or more and your efforts will be rewarded with a snazzy 2 in 1 medal. The challenge starts on 1 January and ends on 31 January, and you can join the challenge anytime from now up to Monday 11 January at 10am, when entries close. Pick Your Distance

The Great Run Solo Distance Challenge is designed to keep you racking up the miles over a 7 or 28 day period. Choose from 7 miles, 50k, 100k or 150k, reach or exceed the distance across the challenge period, and your efforts will be rewarded with an awesome medal.
