Postponement of the 2020 Essar Chester Half Marathon

As a result of the Coronavirus pandemic the 2020 Essar Chester Half Marathon is being postponed to Sunday 20th September 2020.

Joint Race Organiser Chris Hulse said “We are saddened to have to make this decision and we know how disappointing this news will be for our runners. However, during these challenging times everyone’s health and wellbeing becomes the priority. We are thankful for the support of our local council, medical team and key suppliers who have enabled us to postpone the event rather than cancel.”

All runners who entered the 2020 Essar Chester Half Marathon as of 18th March 2020 will automatically be transferred to the new race day of 20th September. Entries received after this date will be entered into the race on 20th September.

Chris Hulse: “The Essar Chester Half Marathon will return in September and we are excited to move forward with our runners, our new route and putting on one of best half marathons in the UK. In the meantime, we encourage everyone to stay safe, keep running and look after yourselves and those around you.” For more information on the Essar Chester 2020 Half Marathon, go to
