What will you be doing on Christmas Eve? A panicked final trip to the shopping centre to get that last present? Fighting your way round the supermarket to find the only Christmas pudding within 50 miles? Here’s another option – run with Mo Farah using Zwift!
Zwift, the indoor training app, like their holiday traditions and each year Zwift CEO Eric Min enjoys hosting events for the Zwift community. This Christmas Eve, he will be joined on the Holiday Run by four-time Olympian Mo Farah.
Famously Farah won double gold medals for the 5,000m and 10,000m at the 2012 and 2106 Olympics and the 2013 and 2015 World Championships. Having moved to the marathon in recent years he is currently working towards a return to the track to defend his titles in Tokyo next year.
The Holiday Run which will give you a chance to run with Farah will be 5k. Does this mean you’ll have to match his 13 minute 5k time? Fortunately not! You run at your own pace with lots of runners of all abilities. You can even post questions and chat with other runners before and after the run.
The run will take place in Watopia on December 24 at 2:30 p.m. GMT/ 6:30 a.m. PST. If you haven’t used Zwift before you’ll need to download the app (which is free to download on iOS and Google Play) and you’ll need access to a treadmill and a bluetooth enabled footpod, such as the Zwift RunPod (or a Bluetooth enabled treadmill).
