Under Armour Unveils Its Fastest Running Shoe

After three years, 17 rounds of material testing, 9 rounds of biomechanical testing, 15 rounds of shoe testing, and over 11,000 miles of wear testing, Under Armour present the UA Flow Velociti Wind. Set to go on sale 3 March 2021 priced at £140.

The Under Armour team set out to create a lightweight, supportive shoe that would perform for elite runners in their most demanding workouts.

The team focused on a simple idea: how can we create a shoe that’s built for speed and breaking barriers?

Could they remove the heaviest part of the shoe – the outsole, without sacrificing durability or traction?

Did they do it? We will have to see, we hope to be testing a pair shortly.

UA Flow Velociti Wind

Key features:

  • Brand new UA flow midsole – a singular-foam compound that eliminates the need for a rubber outsole, enabling Under Armour to create an innovative, super lightweight & high-traction running shoe
  • 241g / Men’s UK 8  | 227g / Women’s UK 4.5
  • UA Warp is a ground-breaking upper that features tapes that act like seatbelts around the foot – providing tension when you need it (hint: traffic) and relax when you don’t – eliminating any buckling and pinch points from traditional uppers built with continuous materials
  • Connected sole – contains a sensor embedded in the midsole that tracks, analyses and stores detailed running metrics to inform ways to improve performance and seamlessly connect to the world’s largest running community – Map My Run
