It was a historic day on Sunday (April 23) as America hosted its very first UTMB World Series event as over 850 participants headed to California for the 2022 Canyons Endurance Runs.

Raced along some of the most spectacular routes on the planet, each entrant ran through the northern foothills of the Sierra Nevada range, which included some of the most challenging parts of the iconic Western States Trail.

There were three courses on offer in the city of Auburn, with elite and amateur athletes entering races at 25km, 50km and 100km distances.

Adam Peterman (USA) and Jazmine Lowther (CAN) won in the 100km races, meanwhile Dakota Jones (USA) and Katherine Short (CAN) prevailed at 50km level with American pair Garrett Heath and Emkay Sullivan finishing first over 25km.

In partnership with IRONMAN, we can now show you the best photos from a memorable day in the 2022 season…
