Coppi and Gregory take marquee titles at Speedgoat Mountain Races by UTMB

The Speedgoat Mountain Races by UTMB once again brought elite trail racing to Snowbird, Utah, over the weekend.

Runners battled steep climbs, technical terrain and thin mountain air in the heart of the Wasatch Mountains.

Athletes from across the United States and beyond took on the event’s 50K, 30K, 10K and inaugural Summit race, each course delivering the vertical gain and alpine challenge that have helped make Speedgoat one of the most iconic mountain races in the country.

30K kicks things off

Friday’s racing opened with the 30K, where Adrian MacDonald (USA) claimed the men’s title in 3:03:59 and Carmen Bango (USA) won the women’s race in 3:47:26.

Sean McCauley (USA) and Joseph DeMoor (USA) rounded out the men’s podium, while Janelle Day (USA) and Rosemary Winterton (USA) completed the women’s top three.

Standout performance

The 10K brought another fast and competitive day on the mountain. Noah Knight (USA) won the men’s race, while Maili Boyer (USA) took the women’s title.

The inaugural Summit race added a new chapter to the Speedgoat weekend, with Davide Giardini (ITA) claiming the men’s victory and Amber Zimmerman (USA) topping the women’s race.

Saturday’s marquee 50K capped the weekend with a standout performance from Mason Coppi (USA), who earned the men’s victory in 5:15:20.

Lauren Gregory (USA) took the women’s title in 5:56:04.

Anthony Williams (USA) finished second in the men’s race in 5:19:37, followed by Cam Smith (USA) in third at 5:32:33.

In the women’s competition, Klaire Rhodes (USA) placed second in 6:21:34 and Leah Yingling (USA) finished third in 6:27:03.
