Debbie Martin-Consani is a GB and Scotland international, who has enjoyed consistent success over the past decade. 

Although moving into her later 40s, Glasgow’s Debbie Martin-Consani achieved arguably the best performance of her 20-year career in winning the 2022 Montane Spine Race, which she admitted left her “utterly broken”

But having also won leading British events such as the Grand Union Canal 145-mile Race, the Montane Lakeland 100, White Rose 60, the Thames Path 100, South Downs Way 100 and North Downs Way 100, she is among the UK’s best-known domestic runners and is affectionately known as ‘RunDMC’ .   

Internationally, Debbie Martin-Consani represented GB at the 2015 and 2016 European 24-hour Championships, finishing eighth in the former and 49th in the latter.

Debbie Martin-Consani has been competing at the top level of trail and ultra running for more than 10 years. 

Her breakthrough year came in 2010 when she finished fourth at the West Highland Way Race and third at the Highland Fling. 

A year later, she was representing Scotland at the Commonwealth ultra-distance championships, finished third at the West Highland Way Race and second at the Highland Fling. 

In 2012, Debbie Martin-Consani set Scottish records for 100km, 200km and 24 hours while helping GB to world bronze and European silver at the IAU Championships in Poland. She also triumphed in the Devil of the Highlands and Grand Union Canal races. 

She helped Team GB to a bronze medal at the European 24-hour Championships, whilst also winning the Thames Path 100 and finishing second at the Montane Lakeland 100. 

In 2014, she went one better and won the Montane Lakeland 100. 

She set her 24-hour personal best of 221.714km when finishing eighth at the 2015 European 24-hour Championships. 

That year also saw her finish second at the Montane Lakeland 50, fifth at the Spartathlon and win the White Rose 60 in a new course record. 

She finished sixth at the 2016 Highland Fling and won that year’s North and South Downs Way 100 races, the former in a new course record. 

In 2017, Debbie Martin-Consani finished 18th in the gruelling Tor des Géants 330km race and represented GB at the World 24-hour Championships. 

She enjoyed a hat-trick of victories in 2019, taking the spoils at the Centurian Track 100, Ultra Trail and the Thames Path 100. 

Debbie Martin-Consani clocked 104:08:22 to win the 268-mile Montane Spine Race in 2022, having finished second in 118:26:33 two years previously. 

Debbie is married to Marco Consani, who is a successful ultra runner in his own right.
