Thursday 19 November should be saved by running addicts around the world as they will be given exclusive behind the scenes access to the ultra-running phenomenon John Kelly’s epic ‘Grand Round’ in a documentary exclusive on the newly launched Run Show TV, brought to you by the company behind the multi-award winning National Running Show.

The documentary was created by UK sports and outdoor photography and video experts PH Balance, who accompanied Barkley Marathons finisher Kelly on his expedition to capture all the highs and lows of this epic challenge. The Grand Round connects the major three fell running rounds of the United Kingdom, including the Paddy Buckley Round in Wales, the Bob Graham Round in the Lake District and the Charlie Ramsay Round in the Scottish Highlands, successively completed by bike between rounds. The challenge included running more than 185 miles with an elevation gain of 84,000 feet over 113 summits and cycling more than 400 miles.

Kelly, 36 years old, originally from Tennessee, USA and now living in Bristol, UK, accomplished the feat on 21 August 2020 and became the first person to complete the Grand Round in a total of 5 days, 10 hours and 43 minutes. For the first time the team is revealing the entire storey and all the action behind the scenes in a 20-minute documentary.

John commented: “I’m excited to be able to share this adventure with its incredible scenery, all its highs and lows, and the physical, mental, and logistical effort a challenge of this nature requires including the team of people who supported and made this possible. To have this all pulled together in a documentary has allowed me to relive this experience and I hope it will inspire others to create their own big goals that align with their passions and provide the motivation to get out and pursue them.”

John was also fundraising for the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust with this effort. Donations are still open.

Accessible exclusively on Run Show TV on YouTube, the premiere will begin at 8pm GMT on Thursday, November 19th. Run Show TV is the brainchild of Raccoon Events, the company behind The National Running Show, in collaboration with PH Balance, and will feature exclusive interviews and documentaries, all designed to encourage and connect runners of all abilities from around the globe.
