COROS Announces partnership with JoggingBuddy and Sport in Mind Charity

We are fans of COROS watches here on RUN247 and look forward to testing out their latest technology so to help them announce their latest partnership with JoggingBuddy and their charity partner Sport in Mind.

Here’s the news from them:

COROS Wearables Inc., makers of performance GPS watches has today announced that it will be the official partner to JoggingBuddy, the free web platform that helps walkers, joggers, and runners buddy-up to exercise and make new friends. In addition, the partnership also includes the announcement of a 2021 Charity Partner, Sport in Mind, which aims to use sport and physical activity to improve the lives of people experiencing mental health problems.

Powered by COROS, and utilising the JoggingBuddy platform, the aim of the partnership is designed to encourage more people to get active, make friends and to socialise, whilst also utilising the already established resources offered by the mental health charity, Sport in Mind.

The partnership will see COROS taking an increasingly active approach in issues around mental health in sport, and has been designed to tie in with the end of the UK nationwide lockdown in order to have the greatest impact.

“The timing is important,” said Ben Clark, Northern Europe Market Manager for COROS Wearables, “Lockdown 2.0 has had a massive effect on both the nation’s physical and mental health and coupled with the now colder and darker days, it is understandably a very difficult time of year for even the most active of people.

I feel very blessed that we have been able to form this fantastic partnership where the key message is to encourage more people to run and socialise, whilst also creating lasting friendships at the same time. The brilliant work which Sport In Mind is known for will also play an important role in this partnership, and together we will support as many people as possible”.

Tony Piedade, Founder & CEO JoggingBuddy.com said “I am excited to have COROS as our title partner. I have always said that you don’t need tech to be a runner, but if you are going to have any sort of tech, you can’t beat COROS products and their approach to innovation. Marry this up with their corporate integrity and shared commitment to get more people active, and we have an unbeatable partnership.”

“As a charity that uses sport and physical activity to help the recovery of thousands of people each year with mental health problems, we are incredibly excited to be working with Jogging Buddy and COROS Wearables, whose innovative approach and core values match our own. We very much look forward to working together in 2021 to improve the mental and physical health of the population”. Neil Harris, CEO of Sport In Mind.

COROS Wearables has also announced its support for #REDJanuary2021, a campaign created by RedTogether, a nationwide movement that empowers people to get “active every day, to beat the blues away”.
