Ibex Multi-Day Race – The Perfect End of Year Running Challenge

Published on

2020 has not been the best of years for events but the team at IBEX MULTI-DAY are changing that with the perfect end of year race for ultra runners.

The IBEX MULTI-DAY is a 5-day stage trail race in Granada province, Andalucia, Spain. Warm sunny days, distant snow-capped mountains, crisp nights, and deserted inspiring trails.

This year’s race will be held from 23rd to 27th December 2020 with two event distances.

  • The full distance ULTRA 228km (8879m+ combined gain)
  • The shorter CHALLENGE event of 138km

The ULTRA distance has been awarded 5 points by the ITRA.

Pristine Trails

Entrants get to tackle a different marked route each day, before returning their accommodation, in the beautiful castellated mountain retreat of Moclín, each evening. Runners only carry what they need for each day in the mountains and trails. The IBEX MULTI-DAY is the ideal event for first-time multi-day runners, as well as those wanting a racing challenge, carrying only the minimal mandatory kit.

The semi-supported race has aid stations every 10-15km, chip-timed, with routes taking participants along pristine trail, technical single track, and epic vistas over the Andalucian mountains and olive groves.

Race Director Steve Farnham says: “We’re looking forward to welcoming runners to the IBEX MULTI-DAY and sharing some of our favourite trails. The routes offer a perfect end of year adventure and something to keep training for during these challenging times. Stunning Andalucia may be the perfect antidote of running and relaxation!”

The Race Package

The IBEX MULTI-DAY race entry includes seven night’s accommodation, evening meals and airport transfer. Both races offer winners’ prizes, finishers’ t-shirts and medals for those completing all 5-stages, friendly and supportive aid-station crew, and full medical support. Runners can rejoin the next day’s stage if they retire once passed medically fit to do so.

Entries are open now! Entry places are strictly limited across both races, with only 70 places available.
