Merrell Announces Sponsorship Deal With Kendal Mountain Festival

Outdoor footwear retailer, Merrell, has announced that it is the headline sponsor of the Mountain Running Evening at the 40th anniversary of the Kendal Mountain Festival.

Taking place from 19th – 29th November, the world-famous outdoors event will be broadcast online for the first time. Ensuring its mission to showcase inspiring, soul-stirring outdoor adventures continue at a time when adventure and travel is limited.

Broadcast online on Thursday 19th November, Merrell’s Mountain Running Evening will transport viewers into the enigmatic, fast-paced world of trail running. Despite the pandemic, an exciting year which has seen notorious and long-lived ultra running records crumble.

Hear from sky-running’s stars in the virtual basecamp

Using state of the art technology, Merrell will bring the thrills and spills of mountain running into the home. Broadcasting live stream talks and conducting interviews with leading lights from the sport who have smashed F.K.Ts this year, including Beth Pascall who ran the fastest Bob Graham Round.

Merrell athlete and World Champion Trail & Skyrunning 2018, and female winner of the 2019 Marathon des Sables, Ragna Debats will also be part of the interviews along with Swedish trail running power-duo, the El Kott twins.

As part of the virtual base camp at this year’s festival, Merrell will be taking viewers through its industry leading product tech videos for the MTL Long Sky, designed with in-put from world champion, Ragna Debats and the MTL Long Sky, alongside an exciting sneak-peek of new launches for SS21.

Mind over matter

As part of the festival, Merrell will also be releasing offers and competitions for event attendees to help support and raise funds for Mind, the Mental Health Charity, as part of a long-term commitment to support mental health and open the outdoors up to all.
