Tough Mudder myCrew

Social Fitness Platform myCrew Partners with Tough Mudder

Tough Mudder has announced that it’s partnering with social fitness app myCrew.

myCrew is a digital platform which connects active people and empowers them to build running and fitness communities. By partnering with Tough Mudder the aim is for OCR communities to be able to connect and train together, during and after each event.

The myCrew app allows active leaders to host sessions that range from beginners’ running clubs right through to ultra-marathon level events for fitness enthusiasts. People looking to build up their fitness in the lead-up to a particular event can access useful insights into the way they train and can build powerful connections along the way.

myCrew is available for free download on the Apple App Store and on Google Play.

Robin Hood Marathon

Robin Hood Gets Even More Green

We love races who take their environmental responsibility seriously. London made some big changes this year, as did Brighton, and now The Robin Hood Marathon Events have announced that the Lucozade Sport on their course will be housed in recycled bottles only.

Judith Manson, Race Director and founder of Goldline Events says: “This is a big step forward in our commitment to reducing the environmental impact of our races. We are incredibly proud, not only to partner with Lucozade, but that they will be making all of their on course bottles for this year’s event from 100% recycled PET bottles to all of our runners in September. This is just one of many steps we and Lucozade are taking to make this our most environmentally friendly race ever.”

Global Running Day

Royal Parks Half Bins Plastic Bottles

The Royal Parks Half has announced that they will be plastic bottle-free for the 2019 race in October. Instead, runners will be given bio-degradable cups at water stations. In addition runners will be encouraged to bring reusable water bottles.

This welcome change is in line with their new environmental policy, which will include: no single use plastic being distributed to people attending the event, all plates, cutlery and food servings must be made from a compostable material, no products containing palm oil can be used on the event site and exhibitors will not be allowed to use balloons or leaflet anywhere on site.
