World-first as Brit attempts 13,000km run to raise £1m for brain cancer charity

British endurance athlete Jack Jarvis is poised to embark on his next world-first challenge: a 13,000km continuous run from Beijing to London, covering the equivalent of more than 300 marathons in consecutive days.

Beginning in July 2026, Jarvis will run approximately 50km (31 miles) every single day, covering 17 countries before crossing the finish line at Trafalgar Square around March 2027.

He will be supported by a small crew travelling in a camper van, which will serve as his mobile base for rest and recovery throughout the journey.

Latest epic challenge

The never-seen-before challenge comes after Jarvis became the first person in history to row across the Atlantic alone, spending 111 days at sea in 2022 – underlining the level of physical and mental conditioning required for what is set to be one of the most demanding endurance feats ever.

In 2025, he rowed from New York to the UK in 56 days and so far this year, he has won the Mackyard Last Man Standing Ultra Marathon and completed the London Marathon in three hours 29 minutes in April – only finding out the day before that he was running.

Jack said of his upcoming adventure: “While extreme endurance challenges have grown in popularity, no known attempt has been made to run this distance, across these regions, under current global conditions.

“I’ll be running more than a marathon every day and my route will take me through some rough territories, both politically and geographically, adding an additional layer of challenge beyond the physical demands. If I want people to donate their hard-earned cash to me, I want to do something big so they feel like they’re getting their money’s worth.”

Raising funds for brainstrust

This is not Jarvis’s first brush with adversity. In 2023, a skydiving accident left him with a serious leg injury that continues to affect him today. Doctors warned of long-term implications, yet Jarvis has since returned to elite endurance performance.

He added: “This run will push the limits of what’s possible, physically and mentally. After my accident, I had to rebuild everything. This challenge is the ultimate test of that journey.

“There’s never a perfect time to take on something like this. The world feels uncertain right now, but that’s exactly why I want to do it: to show what’s still possible, and to bring people together around something positive.”

The challenge is being undertaken to raise funds for brainstrust, a UK charity supporting people living with brain cancer. Jack’s grandfather died from the disease.

Jack Jarvis – and what will be his home for much of the next year

Jarvis aims to raise £1m which will double the number of people that brainstrust can provide life-changing support to.

Will Jones, CEO of brainstrust, said: “At brainstrust, we are deeply moved each time we hear someone say, ‘I wish we’d found your help sooner’. That drives everything we do, working tirelessly to reach more people, sooner, and equitably across every corner of the UK.

“brainstrust currently supports thousands of people living with a brain tumour diagnosis, and we are committed to doubling that impact – reaching 10,000 people each year – without compromise on the quality of care we provide. Every step Jack takes brings us closer to that goal.

“Jack’s challenge is extraordinary, not just in its scale, but in its purpose. Every day, people diagnosed with brain cancer face immense uncertainty, and the support we provide can make a life-changing difference. What Jack is taking on will not only raise vital funds but also much-needed awareness of the realities of this disease.”

Jack’s previous world record attempt attracted widespread attention and high-profile backing, including support from David Beckham, helping to raise both funds and awareness, and if you would like to make a donation ahead of this challenge then please click here.
