London Marathon 2025: Romesh Ranganathan smashes personal best in ‘last dance’ at iconic race

If this really was the last time we see Romesh Ranganathan running the London Marathon, then what a way to go out.

The 47-year-old comedian ran the iconic 26.2-mile distance between Greenwich and The Mall in aid of CALM – a mental health charity – in 2024. And he returned for a second time on Sunday, this time supporting the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Romesh, a self-proclaimed ‘non-sporty kid’ in his youth, said ahead of Sunday’s 2025 renewal that it would be his ‘last dance’ on this course, there would be no more comebacks or returns in future years.

If he’s true to his word, then this was a fitting finale as he smashed his 2024 time of 6:35:21 to cross the finish line in 6:02:28. An improvement of just under 33 minutes.
