Organisers of the Montane Dragon’s Back Race have confirmed that, following the passing of Her Majesty The Queen, the race will continue but changes will need to be made to the original finish at Cardiff Castle.

A statement from the Race organisers said:

“On news of the passing of Her Majesty The Queen, we had to pause, because we knew that Cardiff Castle would be an important location for public mourning. We have put in place contingency measures and are pleased to confirm that the race will continue.

“Day five will start and finish as originally planned. On day six, runners will now finish in Bute Park, just outside the castle walls.

“These new arrangements have implications, as there will be no camping available in Cardiff for our participants or event team. We will communicate full details for the final day to participants, along with what will happen after they have completed the race.”

The organisers have also announced that they will cease delivery of social media updates for the remainder of the race but dot-followers can still track the progress of the race.
