Graduating from the University of Leeds in 2014 with an honours degree in English Literature and Theatre Studies, Jenny started her career in PR During this time, Jenny joined her local running club and quickly went from total beginner to completing her first half marathon. This journey helped her discover a passion for fitness, and helping others to get active. She decided to take some time out from PR to qualify as a personal trainer, Pilates instructor and beginner’s running coach. It was while running a successful freelance personal training business that she really fell in love with endurance sport.
In recent years, Jenny’s focus has been on long distance triathlon. Since 2018, she’s completed Ironman Copenhagen, Ironman Zurich and most recently Challenge Almere-Amsterdam, where she secured qualification for Challenge The Championship 2024. Jenny has also completed multiple 70.3 races, locally in the UK and further afield, and she has also competed at the ETU age group Standard Distance Championships. While much of her training and racing means you’ll find her running on the road, during the off-season Jenny enjoys using her long runs to explore the beaches and trails on the Suffolk coast where she now lives.
Jenny returned to marketing and communications in 2019, first working in the higher education sector before taking up a role as Content and Communications Manager for cycling and triathlon apparel brand, Stolen Goat. During this time she honed her skills as a writer, interviewer and recently appeared as a guest speaker alongside Louise Minchin, Rebecca Charlton, Helen Jenkins and Mel Berry for a panel discussion on women’s cycling at the National Cycling Show. Having experienced what it’s like to be a beginner herself, Jenny is particularly passionate about helping more people to find the confidence to take on challenges and “do the thing” that scares and excites them in equal measure.
When she’s not tapping away at her laptop, you’ll most likely find Jenny out training for her next race, catching up on the latest endurance sport action… or being bossed around by her two sausage dogs. Follow her on Instagram for her latest endurance sport-related adventures.
