2020 Snowdonia Trail Marathon Postponed to 2021

On behalf of the team at Always Aim High Events we would like to pass on a message from them to their entrants to the Snowdonia Trail Marathon. Sadly due to current conditions is having to be postponed. We know this is the right thing to do and we hope you will support them so we can enjoy future events in a safe environment.

The new date for the 2021 event will be 11th July 2021 so please save the date.

Here is the statement from the team.

Thank you to everyone for their continued support since our last update on the impact of COVID-19 on our 2020 events.

It is with great sadness that today we have to announce the postponement of the 2020 Snowdonia Trail Marathon to 2021. The new date for the 2021 event will be 11th July 2021 so please save the date. Entrants will be automatically transferred to the new date, please visit the event websites for specific information. We are working on securing a date for the 2021 event and will make an announcement as soon as we know more.

If you have entered any of these events, you will already have been sent an email giving further information about all of the options available to you.

As always the health, safety and well-being of everyone at our events is at the core of what we do. Decisions have been based on discussions with the venues, public bodies, sports governing bodies and the local community in Llanberis, as well as taking note of any official Government guidance. Our priority is to minimise disruption and do everything we can to support and protect our athletes, staff, volunteers, local communities spectators and suppliers.

In good faith we have been working hard behind the scenes trying to find a way to stage the event that would be acceptable for everyone involved – unfortunately this has not been possible. Although we feel we could host a safe event, we have been requested by the local community not to go ahead. As we have said before, we are proud to be an independent, local North Wales company delivering unique and sustainable event experiences. The continued support from our participants and communities is vital if we are to safely steer ourselves out of this crisis, so that we can return in 2021 and deliver these iconic events for many years to come.

Virtual Snowdonia Trail Marathon

We won’t be leaving you with nothing to aim for and let those training miles go to waste. We are working on a Virtual Snowdonia Trail Marathon that will be live very soon. The virtual event will take place on 18th October so it will fit perfectly with your training calendar. We’ll be making an announcement with more details as soon as we can – watch this space!

We’re still running the Always Aim High Virtual Events and have set up a Tour de Mon Virtual Event. Head over to our website to join in the fun.

Currently, the 2020 Anglesey Trail Half Marathon & 10k and the World’s Steepest Street Run will remain in place. However we are constantly monitoring the situation and taking advice from all relevant bodies. We will communicate developments as they unfold and will maintain regular contact about the status of our events.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding, we can’t wait to see you back out there soon!
