Run the Parks: Ballot Open for Royal Parks Half

The ballot has opened for the 2019 Royal Parks Half Marathon today. The race takes place on Sunday October 13th and 16,000 runners will take part, running through four of London’s Royal Parks.

As well as supporting the Royal Parks charity the race leads the way with its sustainability efforts. Compostable cups, instead of plastic bottles, will be used, runners will receive a recycled polyester t-shirt on finishing (eliminating plastic wrap used when they are shipped to runners) and wooden medals.

In 2018, the Royal Parks Half Marathon’s fundraising efforts broke an all-time record and topped £6 million. Since the inception of the race in 2008, the money raised for over 1,000 charities including the Royal Parks, Cancer Research UK, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Macmillan Cancer Support and Mind nears £43 million.
